James A. Sears, Licensed Acupuncturist, Masters of Oriental MedicineJames A. Sears,
Licensed Acupuncturist, Masters of Oriental Medicine

James studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Academy of Oriental medicine at Austin (www.aoma.edu). The program consisted of over 3000 clock hours of class time, of which acupuncture was merely one facet. The program, among other subjects, included extensive study of Chinese herbology as well as 180 hours of bodywork focusing on Zen shiatsu.

James is nationally certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the state of Ohio's medical board as a licensed acupuncturist. If you have questions about TCM (in general, or in regard to your own health) please do not hesitate to contact The Earth's Center.

Katie Nardecchia, RYTKatie Nardecchia,
RYT

Katie is a certified "Hatha" yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance. She has been practicing yoga for seven years and still continues to grow and carry out her yoga everyday. Katie received her 200 hour certification through the "Sakti" yoga school in Dayton, Ohio. She has been teaching classes for three years, these ranging from beginners to advanced levels. She begins each class with centering, which involves emphasis on the breath. Katie believes this allows each of us to become centered and grounded for the practice. Throughout the class a variety of asanas (postures), will be taught and practiced. Some of these postures are seated and some are standing. The standing postures help us with balance, which becomes increasingly important as we get older. Each class ends with deep relaxation. This time is the most important because it leaves us feeling rejuvenated and most importantly, present in the moment.
